தவஞ் செய்வார் தங்கருமஞ் செய்வார் மற்றல்லார்
அவஞ் செய்வார் ஆசையுட்பட்டு.
தவம் செய்கின்றவரே தமக்குரிய கடமையைச்bசெய்கின்றவர்ஆவர். மற்றவர்களோ ஆசைவலையில் அகப்பட்டு வீண்முயற்சி செய்கின்றவரே.
Explanation:
Those only discharge their duty who perform asceticism/Austerity; all others accomplish their own destruction, through the entanglement of the desire.
Here, please go through the Important Note given below for all Sanmargies.
A true Sanmargi clearly knows that Thavam/Asceticism is good only. Yet, it is just like a pre-spiritual school practice only. The so called Thavam/ Austerity is not required as the truth-seeker practices Suddha Sanmargam. Since, Thavam/Asceticism is in-built with the Four Disciplines of Suddha Sanmargam, namely, 1. Physical Discipline, 2. Mental Discipline, 3. Spiritual Discipline and 4. Soul Discipline.
Thevar Thirumoolar also confirms the same truth in the Thirumanthiram Song shown below.
தவம் வேண்டும் ஞானம் தலைபட வேண்டில்
தவம் வேண்டா ஞானசாமாதி கைகூடில்
தவம்வேண்டா அச்சகமார்க்கத் தோர்க்குத்
தவம்வேண்டா மாற்றம் தனை அறியாரே.
As per our Vallarperuman, the combined practices of Sathvisaaram/Scientific Inquiry (to turn on the Light of Arivu/Awareness/Gnanakkini), and Jeevakaarunyam/Compassionate Services (to activate the Light of Karunai/Compassion/Yogakkini) only will help us gain/see/manifest the third Inward Invisible Eternal Light of Perfection/The Deathless Blissful Divine Light /The True Light of Soul that already exist in us/our soul only.
The 13th Letter of Tamil Language, ஃ (pronounced as Akkanna) represents the Thiruvarul Nilai (The State of Divine Perfection). The three dots in the Tamil Letter Akkanna, ஃ are the three divine icons for the three forms of Divine Light, namely 1. Gnanakkini (The Light of Awareness/Arivu/Purivu/Gnanam), 2. Yogakkini (The Light of Compassion/Serivu/Parivu/Dhayavu) and 3. Inbakkini (The Deathless Divine Light of Bliss/Valarivu/Niraivu/Inban).
The above nature truth is also confirmed by the following Thirumanthiram Song.
“அறிவில் அணுக அறிவது நல்கிப
பொறிவழி ஆசை புகுத்திப் புணர்ந்திட்டு
அறிவு அது ஆக்கி அடி அருள் நல்கும்
செறி வொடு நின்றார் சிவம் ஆயினாரே.”
In fact, these three lights are three different forms/manifestations of the very same Nature Truth or The Absolute Truth only. Therefore, it is symbolically represented by a single Tamil Letter, ஃ (pronounced as Akkanna). That is why, Vallalar also confirms this Nature Truth in the Urainadaippakuthi as, “Suddham = Sathuvam= Nirmalam = Dhayavu= Gnanam= Arul= Jeevakarunyam”
On the contrary, we know some people who say wrongly that the two dots at the bottom of ஃ (Akkanna), represent our outward eyes in our face/head. Funny! They must try to go steeper to gain a deeper understanding. Our external eyes are just like the convex lenses used in a projector or in a camera only, and their functions purely depend on the sthula light/material light from a luminous object like, star, sun, candle or an electric lamp. That is it. And, this material light from a luminous object can be used to see only the sthula/material object in front of us, but not the inward invisible light of our spirit or soul. Please be cautious!
Therefore, a Suddha Sanmargi clearly knows that Gnankkini, Yogakkini and Inbakkini are the three inward lights of our spirit/soul, which are entirely different from the visual light - the external world material light-shine or the so called our sense organs for our worldly sight – the two naked eyes. Yes!And, this nature truth only makes our Thevar Thirumoolar say as,
“முகத்தில் கண் கொண்டு காண்கின்ற மூடர்காள்
அகத்தில் கண் கொண்டு காண்பதே ஆனந்தம்
மகட்குத் தாய் தன் மணாளனோடு ஆடிய
சுகத்தைச் சொல் என்றால் சொல்லும் ஆறு எங்ஙனே.”
And,
“விளக்கைப் பிளந்து விளக்கினை ஏற்றி
விளக்கினுக்கு உள்ளே விளக்கினைத் தூண்டி
விளக்கில் விளக்கை விளக்க வல்லார்க்கு
விளக்கு உடையான் கழல் மேவலும் ஆமே”
Our Vallalarperuman also confirms the above revelation in the Arutpa as shown below.
“கண்டதெலாம் அநித்தியமே கேட்டதெலாம் பழுதே
கற்றதெலாம் பொய்யேநீர் களித்ததெலாம் வீணே
உண்டதெலாம் மலமேஉட் கொண்டதெலாம் குறையே
உலகியலீர் இதுவரையும் உண்மையறிந் திலிரே
விண்டதனால் என்இனிநீர் சமரசசன் மார்க்க
மெய்ந்நெறியைக் கடைப்பிடித்து மெய்ப்பொருள்நன் குணர்ந்தே
எண்டகுசிற் றம்பலத்தே எந்தைஅருள் அடைமின்
இறவாத வரம்பெறலாம் இன்பமுற லாமே.”
And,
“கண்முதல் பொறியால் மனமுதல் கரணக்
கருவினால் பகுதியின் கருவால்
எண்முதல் புருட தரத்தினால் பரத்தால்
இசைக்கும்ஓர் பரம்பர உணர்வால்
விண்முதல் பரையால் பராபர அறிவால்
விளங்குவ தரிதென உணர்ந்தோர்
அண்முதல் தடித்துப் படித்திட ஓங்கும்
அருட்பெருஞ் சோதிஎன் அரசே.”
And thus, let us try to gain our Sathiya Gnana Jothi/ The True Light of Pure Awareness / The Inward Eternal Light of Perfection/The Deathless Blissful Divine Light /The True Light of our Soul/ The True Light of Pure Grace or The Pure-Arul-Arivu or The Vaalarivu or The Perinpap-Pathi-Arivu.

மருவும்ஓர் நாத வெளிக்குமேல் வெளியில் மகிழ்ந்தர சாள்கின்ற வாழ்வே
பருவரல் நீக்கி இனித்திட எனக்கே பழுத்தபே ரானந்தப் பழமே.” ThiruArutpa Aram ThiruMurai
“அருளலாதணுவுமசைந்திடாததனால் அருணலம்பரவுகென்றறைந்தமெய்ச்சிவமே
அருணெறியொன்றேதெருணெறிமற்றெலாம் இருணெறியெனவெனக்கியம்பியசிவமே
அருள்பெறிற் றுரும்புமோ ரைந்தொழில் புரியுந் தெருளிது வெனவே செப்பிய சிவமே” -
