Vanakkam. When I experience and identify every thing, every being as myself, an all-inclusive state of continuous Bliss, then my third eye is the Eye of unbounded infinite Love for all. If I can experience such an identification then it is a proof that my third eye is open.

Absolute Celibacy at deep conscious mind level to the very thought even in dream and Kevala Kumbhaka is the only way we can open Third Eye, Vallalar was a life long celibate so he was able to achieve higher state of mind and body easily by sitting in meditation for few hours a day.

Not Indriya ozhukkam ( discipline of the sense ) - mastery over the senses

you have to wrest the senses from Indrajith ( one who keeps the senses under his control ) and become Jitendra - one who has mastered the senses - then half of the work is done
